Circulation used sound to create sound. Utilizing the physical properties of sound, we created low frequency ramps that displaced air causing various materials on drumheads to vibrate. These vibrations allowed the materials on the drumheads to create a second layer of sound. These new sounds were captured by microphones, processed, and sent back out through small speakers suspended above the listener from the ceiling. The result was an environment of sound that the listener could experience from many vantage points. The room became the composition.
